Consider applying to the two summer undergraduate research programs (NIH and SURE), run in parallel, at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. This will be the 21st year of the program with over 350 former participants, many of whom have continued in careers in biomedical research with over 265 publications listing former participants as authors and co-authors. The University of Oregon Summer Program for Undergraduate Research
This program has rolling admissions, but apply early!
The program is a 10 week immersion into the life of a research scientist, including a closely mentored 10 week research project, regular lab meetings, seminar series, professional development and career workshops, research symposium and poster session, cultural and scientific enrichment activities, and recreational activities.
