New Scholarship
The Massachusetts High-Demand Professions Scholarship
provides financial assistance to students enrolled at public colleges and
universities in Massachusetts enabling them to complete degree and certificate
programs in order to transition into jobs in targeted high-demand occupations.
v The
Massachusetts High-Demand Professions Scholarship can help you achieve your
goal of postsecondary education by awarding between $1,000 and $6,500 per
academic year (depending on what type of institution you attend and whether you
are a full or part-time student) to be used for tuition, fees and other related
educational costs.
v Scholarships
are awarded to support part-time and full-time students pursuing associate or
bachelor degrees in the following programs of study:
o Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
o Nursing
and other health professions (e.g. Radiology, Occupational Therapy, Medical and
Clinical Lab Technology
o Elementary
and Secondary Education (except Special Education)
o Finance
and Accounting
o Certificate
programs eligible for the scholarship will include: Licensed Practical Nursing,
Dental Assistants, and Computer Technology
Eligibility
v
Permanent legal resident of Massachusetts for at
least one year prior to application
v
Annually file the Free Application for federal
Student Aid (FAFSA)
v
Enrolled in a state-supported undergraduate
degree or certificate program
v
Maintain a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0
v
Complete the High-Demand Professions Scholarship
application
v
US citizen or an eligible non-citizen capable of
receiving federal financial aid under Federal Title IV
